Off grid house the Old Pigsty is a back-to-basic cottage on the Moon View Farm. It is an old pigsty converted into a hiker's cabin. The old elements are still in it. The walls are leached with clay from our polder. There is deliberately no electricity, lighting comes from candles or oil lamps that are present. Equipped with a wood stove, plenty of seating inside and outside and there is a full inventory for cooking. You bring your own sleeping bag, toiletries and towels. The sleeping platform is for 4 pers. Mattresses available.
Cooking can be done on a skottelbraai, BBQ or rocket stove. You can also use a full-sized kitchen with electricity in our garage upon request. There is a composting toilet and an outdoor shower with hot water.
There is a garden room, permaculture garden, vegetable garden and food forest under development on the property. From this you may get your own complementary food which is available.
Ideal for a retreat, reflection or a "back-to-basic" experience, for example.
